Vernon Regina Watters Willingham – Obituary

Vernon Regina Watters Willingham, 95, died Tuesday morning, June 26, 2018 at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Danley Willingham and son-in-law, Lyle Reed Holladay.

Survivors include her daughter, Connie Holladay White (Dale) of Decatur; two granddaughters, Laura Shackelford (Jerry) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Amy Lasher (Fred) of Fairbanks, Alaska; four great-grandchildren, J.D. Shackelford, Elizabeth Shackelford, Isaac Lasher and Avery Lasher; one great-great-grandson, Dean Shackelford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vernon was born March 31, 1923 near Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. She was a resident of Russellville for more than 59 years. Vernon was a member of New Hope Methodist Church in the Oak Grove community near Russellville.

Visitation will be at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville on Friday, June 29th from 11 a.m. to noon with funeral services following in the chapel at noon. Burial will be in East Franklin Cemetery. Reverend Richard Riley will be officiating.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
