Sammy L. Painter – Obituary

Sammy L. Painter, 75, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at his home. He was born September 12, 1942, to Martin VanBuren and Estell Ewing Painter. He enjoyed working on small engines, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved trading stuff.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 29, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Eddie McMillen officiating. Burial will be in the Harden’s Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sharon Kay Painter; his children, Shawn Evans (Tina) and Leon Painter, both of Fulton, Tina Painter of Alabama, and Bradley Painter and Sara Painter, both of Canada; two brothers, Donnie Painter and Gary Painter (Dot), both of Fulton; grandchildren, Shane Evans, Shannon Evans, Alex Franks, Allison Franks, and Erica McGahey; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Shelia Moore; three brothers, Martin Painter, Bobby Painter, and an infant brother; and two sisters, Verda Godsey and Brenda McKinney.

Pallbearers will be Shane Evans, Shannon Evans, Alex Franks, Andrew Hatcher, and Freeman Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Tighe and Larry Painter.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
