Herman (Ed) Poling – Obituary

Herman (Ed) Poling of Columbia, TN (formerly Wakarusa, IN) passed away on June 21st surrounded by family.

Ed was born on April 4, 1937 to Robert and Hazel Poling in Kosciusko County, Indiana. He graduated from Elkhart High School and served four years in the U.S. Navy. He married Blanche Leonard on December 14, 1957 in Sanford, Florida.

Ed is survived by his wife Blanche Poling, children Craig (Marcia) Poling, Chris (Kathy) Poling, Lacretia Kyle, Fran (Myron) Bontreger, grandchildren Sarah (Sonny) Del Grosso, Ryan Poling, Caleb Poling, Colin Poling, Spencer Poling, Katrina Poling, Jacqueline Kyle, Neil Kyle Jr., Lucas Bontreger, Sofia Bontreger, Olivia Bontreger, brothers Jim (Carol) Poling, and Gene (Pat) Poling, and many nieces and nephews.

Ed loved to spend time with his family, serve God, and travel the USA.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 25th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home in Nappanee, IN. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 26th at 11:00 a.m. at First Church of God in Nappanee, IN. Memorial gifts may be made to the ALOIS Society.
