Morris Earl Lindsey – Obituary

Morris Earl Lindsey, 65, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born April 4, 1953, to Morris Roberts and Deniece Baldwin Lindsey. He worked for Bellsouth for 43 years and was a member of Ozark Baptist Church. He had served in the National Guard. He had a special talent for cooking, especially grilling and smoking meats. He loved hunting, fishing, and visiting the Smoky Mountains and was an avid Mississippi State fan. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, he was a practical joker who possessed a quick wit and enjoyed a good laugh.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Guy Lindsey officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Jo Lindsey of Mantachie; three sons, Carrol Lindsey (Mika) of Centerton, Ark., Justin Lindsey of Fayetteville, Ark., and Jesse Steward of Tupelo; one daughter, Mindi Guin (Steve) of Mantachie; one sister, Elaine Cox of Hernando; and his grandchildren, Henry, Hadlee, and Heston Lindsey, all of Centerton, Ark.; Jacob Underwood and Joleigh Goodson of Mantachie; Savanna Guin of Saltillo; and Adrianna Guin of Oxford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Elizabeth Cook; one brother-in-law, Jerry Cox, and a step-daughter, Jamie Shaver.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 22, at the funeral home in Mantachie.
