Yu-Vawn Blakely age 85 of Athens, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital. Mrs. Blakely was born October 1, 1932 in Limestone County, AL to Carlous O. Brackeen and Etta Lynn Brackeen.
Services will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 3:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Steve Klein officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by her husband, Floyd N. Blakely; her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Survived by three daughters, Cheryl Barksdale, Pam Blakely and Pat Gatlin; grandchildren, Jessica Bradley, Andrew Gatlin and Jacob Gatlin; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Glenn Brackeen, Keith Brackeen, Philip Brackeen and Nathan Brackeen; two sisters, Cletis Brooks and Cornelia Pepper; host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers make memorials to Athens Bible School Building Fund or East Side Church of Christ.
