Morris E. Murphree – Obituary

Morris E. Murphree, 89, died Monday, June 18, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born May 2, 1929, to Clifford Bean and Tular Wilson Murphree. He worked for Penn Tire for many years and retired from Itawamba County. He was a member of the Church of Christ and loved bluegrass music.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Grady Davidson officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Robert Murphree (Renee) of Fulton; two daughters, Kathy Wilson (Jimmie) of Fulton and Sharon Stokes (Thomas F.) of Meridian; five grandchildren, Lara K. Gary (Trey), Ashley Keith (Shawn), Brooklyn Murphree, Wes Stokes (Lauren), and Will Stokes; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers, Dillard, Elvis Dewel, Hillard Stonewall, Coyle W., Delmer “York,” Ellie Hue, Bethay, and Jack Nelson Murphree; and three sisters, Nettie Eva Chamblee Baxter, Lily Murphree Mays, and Nellie Ree Murphree Reeves.

Pallbearers will be Trey Gary, Joel Murphree, Mark Mayhall, Bill Gary, and Clifford Murphree.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
