Delores Olevia Wright – Obituary

Delores Olevia Wright, age 85, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by loved ones. From her birth in Killen, on March 16, 1933 to her death on Thursday, she cared and nourished everyone around her with love, faith, and her sweet smile.

 

Delores owned Classic Cottage gift shop in Killen for 25 years. She loved meeting and making new friends. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, snaking on Little Debbies and spending time with great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill Wright, and son Ben Wright; two sisters, Mable Wallace and Emma Billingsley, and two brothers, Charles Robertson and Raybern Robertson.

 

She leaves behind two daughters, Donna Lovelace (Mike Predmore) of Mobile, AL, and Pam Black (Robert) of Killen, AL, four grandchildren, Robin Davis (Brandon), Anna Lovelace, Brad Black (Leigh), and Ali Boston (Blake).Great grandchildren are Brinlea Davis, Piper Davis, Jace Black, Pratt Black, Baby Black due in December, Bryant Black, Marley Black, and Corey Boston.

 

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Amedisys Hospice, Dr. Jeremy Thompson, and Dr. Jonathan Wright. The family also extends a very special thanks to Jessie Thompson. Words cannot begin to explain the love and compassion he showed to Granny and our family during this difficult time.

 

Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 1-2:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Leon Cole officiating. Burial will be in North Carolina Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers are Brad Black, Bryant Black, Blake Boston, Brandon Davis, Doug Hamner, and Keith Rhodes.

 

Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
