“Mim” Jeannie Helms – Obituary

“Mim” Jeannie Helms, age 76, of Arab, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Helms was born on August 3, 1941 to Robert Black & Emily Hammond Black in Blount County. She graduated from JB Pennington High School & moved to the Arab area in 1983. She was married to the late Mr. James Harvey Helms who passed on March 3, 2015. Mr. Helms was the owner operator of Century 21 The Premier Agency located in Arab. She enjoyed Braves Baseball, socializing with friends, spending time with family & being “Mim” to her grandchildren.
Mrs. Helms is a member of Garden City Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Jimmy & Tara Helms; grandchildren, Kameron Helms & Karson Helms; brother & sister-in-law, Milford & Cynthia Black; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; late husband; sister, Joyce Dickie.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday June 15, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Bro. Clint Maze & Bro. Jerry Butler officiating. Burial will be in Garden City Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Black, Mike Smith, Barry Black, Clay Burrows, Riley Burrows.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Thursday June 14, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
