James Hoyt Stewart – Obituary

James Hoyt Stewart, 86, of Lexington, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at his residence. There will be an 11 a.m. graveside service today at Bethel Cemetery with Bill Barlow officiating, Spry Funeral Home is directing. No visitation planned.

Mr. Stewart was born May 16, 1932 in Lauderdale County. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Anderson and he was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include sister, Cornelia (Ray) Purdue; brother-in-law, Vernon (Mary Lou) Hurn; sister-in-law, Gisela Stewart; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Loyd and Maebell Stewart; wife, Alene Stewart; and brother, Robert Hanley Stewart.
