James Hoyt Stewart, 86, of Lexington, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at his residence. There will be an 11 a.m. graveside service on Thursday at Bethel Cemetery with Bill Barlow officiating. No visitation planned.
Mr. Stewart was born May 16, 1932 in Lauderdale County. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Anderson. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his sister, Cornelia Purdue; brother-in-law, Ray Purdue; three nephews, one niece, one great-nephew, two grea-nieces, one sister-in-law. Preceded in death by parents, Loyd and Maebell Stewart; wife, Alene Stewart; and one brother, Robert Hanley Stewart.
