Mavis Annie Pierce Box – Obituary

Mavis Annie Pierce Box, 81 of Addison, entered into rest on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Folsom Center in Cullman, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Box was born on December 17, 1936, in Winston County. Mavis attended West Point for her early schooling and went on to graduate from Addison High School in 1955.  She was a longtime member of Nesmith Church.  Mavis enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds and quilting.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 2pm at Nesmith Church, with a graveside committal prayer to follow in the adjoining cemetery. Pastor Steton Hayes will officiate.

Mavis is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jerell Denton Box; son, Eric Box; sister, Velda Voyt; and sister in law, Frances Pierce.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Maudie Pierce, and brother, Levis “Bud” Pierce.
