Martha Miller – Obituary

Martha Miller, age 87, of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on June 10, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Martha was born on March 16, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Lorraine Johnson Martineau. She was raised in different places in Mississippi but later settled in Olive Branch Mississippi; she finished grammar school there and then transferred to St. Agnes Academy for girls in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from St Agnes Academy in 1950. She later attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1955 as a Registered Nurse. In 1955, she married GW Miller of Earle, Arkansas, they were married for 59 years. He died on October 8, 2014. They had two children. Martha attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed participating in the activities of the Church.

Martha is survived by her daughter: Martha Allison Miller Ward; son: Greg (Angie) Miller; grandchildren: Clara (Malcolm) Taylor, Mary Martha Ward, William Ward and Mahlory (Chris) Gaddess; several great grandchildren; brother: George Lee Martineau; nephews: Lee, Burt, Andy and John Martineau and niece: Lora (Steve) Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandsons: Brandon Miller and Greg Ward.

A Service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Noon at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00am.

Honorary pallbearers are Martha’s numerous close friends.
