Joe Edgar Turner, 76, passed away at his home Sunday, June 10, 2018. He was a US Army Veteran, a mechanic and he worked for Swift Trucking as a delivery truck driver. He was born on March 2, 1942 to Edgar and Mattie Cleo Meeks Turner who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Jack, Steve “Squeak” and Lewis “Duke” Turner; sisters, Margaret “Pete” Gipson and Nina Harris.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years next month, Mary Anderson Turner; son, Leslie (Monica) Turner; daughters, Teresa (Charles) Shrum and Ann (John) Partain; grandchildren, Lauren, Anna, Leslie, Emily, Summer, Evan, Jacob, Joshua, Lucas and Katelynn.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Matthew Meeks, Jacob Anderson and nephew, Bill Turner officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
