Suspect Arrested In Defamation Of Billboard In Florence

FLORENCE – The Florence Police Department issued a release on the defamation of a billboard located at Florence Blvd and Tennessee St on Tuesday, May 29:

“On 5/29/18 officers responded to Florence Blvd and Tennessee St concerning Criminal Mischief on a Billboard owned and maintained by Lamar Advertising Co. They found that the billboard was defaced with permanent paint covering the advertisement that was posted.

The paint was depicting a picture and a phrase in Spanish, the translation of the words was vulgar. The sign had to be removed and replaced.

The cost of replacing the sign was $1,000.00. Evidence was located at the scene that helped to identify the offender, Brandon Stoll.

Warrants were issued for Mr. Stoll for Criminal Trespassing and Criminal Mischief. Mr. Stoll was arrested on 6/10/2018 and booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center.”
