Athens Man Dead After Single-Vehicle Accident On Sunday

ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency issued a statement regarding a traffic fatality that took place on Sunday, June 10 in Athens.  One was person was killed and another injured in the one-vehicle accident:

“A single-vehicle crash at 1:50 a.m. today, June 10, has claimed the life of an Athens man.

Jason Michael Conley, 35, of Athens was a passenger in a 1994 Chevrolet Corvette that left the roadway on Edgewood Road and overturned. Conley, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Donald Dewayne Patterson, 36, of Athens, was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for his injuries. The crash occurred five miles north of Athens.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.”
