Kevin Lee Primm, 57, of Huntsville, AL, went home peacefully surrounded by family on June 8, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Primm Springs, TN, on December 17, 1960. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Primm and his brother, Charles Primm.  He is survived by his wife, Cindy Gattis; son, Cameron Primm; daughters, Alysha Foxworthy (Kevin), Carol Bellenfant, and Anna Marie Siniard; grandchildren, Casey and Corey Bellenfant and Wyatt and Ava Foxworthy; mother, Gladys Primm; brother, Danny Primm (Angie); niece and nephews, Emily Primm Hunter (Timmy), Jeremy Primm (Suzanne), Craig Primm, and Chad Primm; and his dogs Buster, Kylee, Jack, and Greyson.
Kevin was a jack of all trades and the ultimate fixer of all things broken. He spent his days growing vegetables in the garden, watching his carefully curated Purple Martins, and smoking whatever meat he could think of with family and friends. Since his diagnosis, Kevin spent his time exactly the way he felt God wanted us all to live. Kevin lived the last eighteen months to the fullest, taking the time to fish in Tennessee with his brother, sitting on his back porch with the people he cared most about, and taking those trips he always had planned for tomorrow. Among many memorable adventures, his favorites were a voyage through the serene fjords of Alaska and a final year at the Kentucky Derby with his wife Cindy and their friends Chester Rowe and Karen Cole.
Due to a solid work ethic built as a child working on his parents’ farm, Kevin graduated from the University of Huntsville in 1988 and went to work as an electrical engineer at NASA until the very end. According to his co-workers, Kevin was the epitome of a great mentor, instilling values of trustworthiness and service to others in everyone he encountered. During the April 2011 tornadoes, his team spent many days bringing NASA back online, but they never felt stressed or overwhelmed because they knew Kevin was there to help them through the challenge. Kevin often said he wanted to leave NASA better than he found it. He did.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 12th from 4:00 to 6:00 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with a service following in the chapel. A second service and burial will take place at the New Antioch Church of Christ (Primm Springs Rd, Lyles, TN, 38476) on Thursday, June 14th at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Kevin L. Primm to the Phase 1 “Drug Called Hope” Program of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer. Please designate specifically “for liver cancer research.” The family is especially grateful to Dr. Saleh and the entire staff at UAB for providing such amazing care, both physically and emotionally.
Kevin will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched.

Isaiah 40:29-31

29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
