Lewis Franklin McCorkle, age 59 of Sheffield, passed away in his sleep on June 5, 2018 and went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was welcomed into his eternal resting place by his beloved wife of 35 years, Cheryl, who he had desperately missed for the past two years.
Frank’s visitation will be Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Valley Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Beasley officiating. He will be buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Frank graduated from Sheffield High School and worked at Long Lewis Muscle Shoals for the past 14 years. He was an active member of Valley Grove Baptist Church where he also served as Chairman of the Finance Team.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frankie Lou and Ira Edsel McCorkle.
He leaves behind his son, Brandon Franklin McCorkle; daughters, Christi Michelle Dixon (Shaun) and Kelli Renee Hodges (Jason); sister, Brenda Peters; brothers, Tommy McCorkle and James McCorkle; granddaughter, Makynna; and his beloved pet, Lucas.
Dad loved wholeheartedly without conditions and always put his family first. He was a beloved father and grandfather.
