Doise Dean Chambers Cobb – Obituary

Doise Dean Chambers Cobb, 88, passed away June 5th peacefully at home after a brief illness. She was surrounded by family as she entered her heavenly home. A native of Winston County, she lived most of her life in Littleville. She was a faithful member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church for almost 60 years.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 8th at Pinkard’s Funeral Home in Russellville. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. and be conducted by Brother William Smith, Joel Hand and Brother Gatus Cheatham. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Doise’s Christian character and faith were most evident in her devotion to her children and family. Left to cherish her memory is son, Terry Cobb; daughters, Sue Cheatham (Gatus), Rita Hand (Joel), Rena Hovater (Anthony) of Tuscumbia, Sheron Kemp (Charles) and Gail Terry of Muscle Shoals. Also 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Martha Alford (Buddy), Double Springs and Olene Alexander (Franklin), Addison; and numerous nephews, nieces.

She was preceded in death by husband, Edgar Doyl Cobb; parents, George and Ola Chambers; daughter, Teresa Cobb Roberts; grandson, Greg Montgomery; great-grandson, Jordan Cobb; brother, Hershel Chambers; and sisters, Stell Chambers, Pauline Williams and Loree Spear.

Pallbearers will be Corey Cheatham, Aaron Hand, Kyle Cheatham, Justin Cobb, Kane McCorkle and Jacob Bishop.
