John Woodson Wilson went home to be with the Lord at 7:25 in the morning of Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the age of 88. He was born September 3, 1929, to Cordis Dow and Jasmine Grissom Wilson. Woodson was a faithful Christian who read his bible daily and a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ. Woodson was a carpenter by trade working over sixty years building houses and church buildings and doing repairs on houses. He was his own architect on the building of some of the houses. He was a talented man who built over 100 projects, the last one being when he was 84 despite being a paraplegic the last 45 years. Woodson loved life from working in his garden to doing a kind deed for someone in need, or just taking his neighbors and friends some of the vegetables he grew in his garden. Woodson was a World War II veteran, Private First Class, of the United States Army where he was an artillery marksman shot, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 51.
