ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson issued a release on the arrest of an Athens man on Saturday, June 2 who has been charged with Breaking and Entering Vehicles:

“Early Saturday morning the police department received a call of a suspicious vehicle on Vaughn Drive. When Officer Paul Richey and Officer Casey Terry arrived they talked with the complainant. They were told the truck had been parked on the street within the past 45 minutes and it wasn’t supposed to be there. Officers started walking thru the neighborhood and located a male walking on French Way. They observed the male walk between a residence and a pickup truck. He was pulling on the handles of vehicles trying to gain entry. When another officer pulled down the street in a patrol car the male attempted to hide from the officer. At that time the officers confronted the male. He was identified as Tyrese Jamal Sales. Officers started going to other vehicles and located 4 different vehicles that had been entered and glove boxes and consoles gone thru. Sales was arrested and charged with 4 counts of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle. He was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”
