Athens Man Arrestred And Charged With Trafficking Meth

ATHENS-Athens Police Chief issued a statement on the arrest of a suspect on Friday, June 1.  The suspect has been arrested and charged with multiple charges including drug trafficking:

“Friday night members of the Athens Police Department executed a search warrant obtained by Investigator Jo McClanahan at 600 Wright Street. Located at the residence was 29.1 grams of Methamphetamine’s, 25 grams of crack Cocaine and 1 gram of Marijuana. The total value of the drugs was estimated around $5500.00. Officers also recovered a stolen AR-15 from Huntsville, a 45 mm handgun with an extended clip in the gun, two 9 mm pistols and a shotgun. Investigators also seized $553.00 in cash.

Leonard Yarbrough Jr. was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamines, possession of marijuana second degree and receiving stolen property 3rd degree. Out department had three warrants for Yarbrough’s arrest which he was also charged with, possession of paraphernalia, harassment and reckless driving. Yarbrough was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”
