Syble S. White – Obituary

Syble S. White, 90, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. She was born October 13, 1927, in French Camp to Fred Arlius and Pearlie Irene Rodgers Stevens. She lived in French Camp and then Norman, OK, before making Tupelo her home for the last 30 years. She retired from JC Penney in Tupelo. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Peppertown and loved her pastor, Bro. Mark Tutor. She enjoyed wrestling, gardening, and her flowers, especially her roses.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie. Burial will be in the Boguefala Cemetery.

Survivors include three step-sons, Rick White (Linda) of Mooreville, Randy White (Sonya) of Nettleton, and Andy White of Tupelo; one sister, Ethelyn Louise Stevens Prewitt of Ackerman; one brother, Johnson Arlius Stevens of French Camp; a special niece, Sherrell Bowman (Donnie) of Norman, OK; her special caregivers and angels Ms. Mary Bishop, Denise Pulliman, and the employees of Countrywood Manor in Mantachie; and her family caregivers, Brenda Frost, Tonia Marcy, and Rick and Linda White.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Box; one son, Charles Box; her husbands, James Box, William “Pert” Pirkle, and Leon White; her parents; and three siblings, Jessie Rodgers Stevens, Freddie Geraldine Stevens Britt, and Hurchel Perry Stevens.

Pallbearers will be Kim Glissen, Trent Hutcherson, Ray Stegall, Brad Smith, Steven Stegall, Randy White, Andy White, and Austin Veasey.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
