William Alton Stutts – Obituary

William Alton Stutts, 94, of Florence, passed away May 31, 2018. He was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was very involved in supporting the Petersville Senior Center, and he made the pancakes at the monthly breakfast for many years.

Visitation will be Monday, June 4, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at Jackson Heights Church of Christ Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Barry Gilreath officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.  Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with military funeral honors.

Mr. Stutts was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah Burkes Stutts; parents, William and Rebecca Stutts; and daughter-in-law, Linda Garver Stutts.

He is survived by his sons, Jerry Dale Stutts (Loretta) of Center Star, and Larry Dennis Stutts of Florence; daughter, Nancy Stutts Woods (Jay) of Killen; brothers, Henry Stutts and William Stutts, Jr. (Joyce) all of Florence; sister, Reba Thompson of Greenhill; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the North Alabama Christian Children’s Home.
