Virgil Glenn England – Obituary

Virgil Glenn England, 78, of Killen, passed away May 27, 2018. He was a member of First Baptist Church Center Star; Florence Masonic Lodge #14; Bluegrass Music and Festivals; Rock Creek Hunting Club; retired from Reynolds Alloys after 37 years of service; and Flagman at North Alabama Speedway for 18 years.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brother Gordon Wilbanks officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

 

Mr. England was preceded in death by his parents, Virgal and Willie England; son, Bill England; brother, Nelson England; and sister, Rose Uhlman.

 

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte England ; daughter, Connie Putnam  (Curtis) ; brothers, James England (Martha) and Nolan England (Carol) ; sister, Jane Ivey; grandsons, Joshua Lance Putnam and Logan Glenn Putnam (Christina) ; and great-grandsons, Brilee Lance, Rylan Maddox, and Wylder Glenn Putnam, and Case Andrew Morrow.

 

Pallbearers will be Josh Putnam, Logan Putnam, Curtis Putnam, Brian England, Mark England , Philip England, Neal England, and Kenny Yarbrough.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at: P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 300, Memphis, TN 38148-0552; or to the American Cancer Society.
