Mr. Charles Edman “Eddie” Crabtree, 62, passed away, Saturday May 26, 2018 in a automobile accident. He was born in Whitwell, Tennessee on July 29, 1955. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Edman Crabtree; son, James Brandon Crabtree; brother, Roger Troy Crabtree.
Eddie had worked with his father and brother operating the Sour Wood Coal Company and was a cattle farmer. He currently owned and operated CCR Enterprises in Jasper, Tennessee along with his son Drew, selling heavy equipment.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Smartt Crabtree; son, Drew (Paulina) Crabtree; mother, Edna Gipson Crabtree; granddaughter, Charlee Crabtree; sisters, Diana Gillespie and Melinda (Tim) Layne; mother-in-law, Stella Dodson; nieces, Melissa, Gracie, Journey and Candy; nephews, Daniel, Blake, Will and Trey.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Bill and Tim Smith and Dennis Rollins officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
