Sheriff Shannon Oliver

Russellville-Since the new Franklin County Sheriff’s Office website was introduced on September 12, two arrests have been made off the FCSO (Franklin County Sheriff’s Office) Most Wanted List, including a man wanted in connection with the severe beating of his girlfriend.

ARRESTED

Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said Aron Juan Butler, 33, 115 Truman Jackson Road, Russellville, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon for second-degree assault-domestic violence.

Oliver said the charges stem from incidents that occurred in May and July of this year.

Oliver said investigators had been searching for Butler since early July and were finally able to get a break in the case thanks to a tip from a person who saw Butler’s picture on the new website.

Butler was arrested by U.S. Marshals at noon on Wednesday at a residence in Huntsville where he had been staying.

Oliver said this case is a good example of what can be accomplished when the community works together.

“We appreciate the person who visited our website ( www.franklinsheriff.org ) and saw Aron Butler’s picture and made the decision to call us and tell us what they knew,” Oliver said. “Because of that action, this man is in custody. It just shows what can be accomplished through teamwork and community involvement.”
