Lola Jane Cates Wilburn – Obituary

Lola Jane Cates Wilburn, 73, died Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. She was born May 12, 1945, to Cullen and Creasie Clouse Cates. She was a long-time member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church. She worked at Dr. Pettis’s office for many years, and was a home-maker. She loved to care for her family, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p. m. Monday, May 28, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Rev. Danny Wilburn and Jamie Wilburn officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Rev. Danny Wilburn (Sandy) of Mantachie and Kenneth Wilburn (Sandra) of Mooreville; three grandchildren, Brittany Simmons (Catlin) of Mooreville, Nathan Wilburn (Bethany) of Pontotoc, and Jamie Wilburn of Columbus; four great grandchildren, Hannah, Haley, and Heather Simmons, all of Mooreville, and Dixie Mae Wilburn of Pontotoc; one brother, Archie Cates (Arlene) of Mantachie; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Coy Wilburn; five brothers and two sisters; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Sunday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
