Mrs. Joyce Mae Love “Big Ma” Boyd July 11, 1936 – May 18, 2018
Joyce Mae Francis Malone Love Boyd began her life on July 11, 1936. On Friday, May 18, 2018, God saw that the road was getting rough so the Lord opened the portal of Heaven and took her from this earthly home to her eternal home. Joyce was born to the late Eldridge Malone and Margaret Jones Malone. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Love; brother, Henry Malone; and sister, Mattie Bell Malone Hampton.
Joyce confessed hope in Christ at an early age. She joined Union Hill CPCA under the pastorate of Reverend Edward E. Morton, and now Reverend Edward E. Anderson. Joyce serve faithfully in the #2 Choir and the Adult Choir until her health began to fail.
Joyce was a very caring and loving person. Her laughter and smile was unforgettable to everyone. Joyce was also known as “BIG MA” to all of her family and the entire neighborhood. She was married to the late Samuel Boyd.
Joyce leaves behind a cherished and devoted son, Louis Love, as well as Jimmy Love (Georgia), and Lorenzo Love (Barbara); stepson, Gregory Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; as well as two devoted daughters: her caregiver, Joyce Jordan (Joe), and Linda Love (Malcolm); three sisters: Mary Ann Malone, Floretta Malone-Smart (Ruben), and Carrie Mae Malone; two brothers: Reverence Richmond Malone (Deborah), and Reverend Clifford Malone Hollins (Rochelle), all residing in Huntsville, Alabama; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, 20 great, great grandchildren; a devoted aunt/mother, Alberta Jones; two close friends, Minister Lorenzo Moore and Cornelia Summer, aka “Sister.” Joyce also leaves her treasured memories to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all her Neighborhood Family on Valleydale Road, where she lived for over 20 years.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (3126 Nevel Drive, Huntsville, AL 35810) with Reverend Clifford Malone Hollins officiating. Interment will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Mrs. Boyd will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 and 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Royal Funeral Home.
