Mary Ellen Collum – Obituary

Mary Ellen Collum, 79, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at ECM Hospital, Florence, AL. She was born July 31, 1938 in Alabama and was a homemaker. She was a member of Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary.

Services will be Saturday, May 26, 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL

with  Bro. Steve Lindsay and Bro. Mike Crews officiating. Burial will be in Burnout Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two sons – Joel Collum, Jr. (Barbara) Nashville, Tn. and Jim Collum (Cyndi) Jackson, Tn.; two daughters – Rhonda Condrey (Jerry) Florence, Al. and Wanda Berry (Joe) Madison, Al.; grandchildren – Amber Patterson (Leon) Midway, Ms., Leslie, Matthew and Zachary Collum, Nashville, Tn., Page Berry, Madison, Al. and Sydney and Kyle Griffin, Jackson, Tn.; great-grandchildren – Kix, Beau and Arabella Patterson;  one brother – Alec Page (Friedel) Red Bay, AL; one sister – Judy Hayes, McDonough, GA and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Collum, her parents, Jim Page and Mag Vinson Page and a sister, Irene Page.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 26, 1-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Women Active for Christ at Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church.
