Irene Burbank – Obituary

Irene Burbank, 89, of Killen died Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 26, 2018, 6-8 PM at Elkins East Chapel.  Funeral services will be Sunday, May 27, 2018, 4 PM at Center Star United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Herston and Rev. Ian Butler officiating.  Burial will be at Center Star Cemetery.

Mrs. Burbank was a lifetime member of Center Star United Methodist Church.  She was a member of “Order of the Eastern Star.”  She loved camping, fishing, flowers, crocheting, and above all being with her family, especially her husband of 73 years.

Mrs. Burbank was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Faith Burbank; parents, Homer and Florence Gautney; brothers, Cecil Gautney, Bill Gautney, Gene Gautney, and Maples Gautney; sisters, Flora Dison and Christine Wilson.

Mrs. Burbank is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Rev. Alvin Burbank; children, Rev. Randy Burbank (Debbie) and Linda Jacqueline Jackson; grandchildren, Christa Smallwood (Jonathan), Brandon Jackson, Matthew Burbank (Natalie), and Leslie Faith Spencer (Michael); great-grandchildren, Mason Jackson, Alyssa Jackson, Brayden Sharp, Ethan Spencer, Caroline Spencer, Maddox Burbank, and Vivian Faith Smallwood; nieces, Laura Adams (Chuck) and Carolyn Jones (Bill); nephew, Jerry Dison (Bonnie).

Special thanks to nurses and staff of Mitchell-Hollingsworth Rehab and Nursing Home; nurses and staff of Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home; Hospice of the Shoals; and a very special thanks to all neighbors and friends for the food, thoughts, and prayers.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Burbank, Brandon Jackson, Jonathan Smallwood, Chuck Adams, Mason Jackson, and Brayden Sharp.
