Ruble H. Yopp – Obituary

Ruble H. Yopp, age 77, of Middleton, departed this life Friday evening, May 18, 2018 at his home.

The husband of Martha F. Isom Yopp, who survives, he worked as a plant superintendent at Sequentia and manager of Corrulux from 1980-2004. He also worked for Shackelford Funeral Directors in 1958, at Reichold Chemical in 1959 and at Dover Elevator from 1969-1980, serving as their first personnel director. He was born in Rogers Springs on June 4, 1940, son of the late John Nathan Yopp and Mary Josephine Matthews Yopp and lived his entire life in the county. He married the love of his life, Martha Isom, on April 21, 1958 in Corinth, Mississippi. He served as a constable for the county from 1963-64 and was active in the Lions Club for 12 years. His hobbies included gardening, traveling, farming, playing Rook and being around his grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom he dearly loved. Mr. Yopp was a member of Middleton Church of Christ and a former elder at Pocahontas Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Martha F. Isom Yopp of Middleton; a daughter and her husband, Rebekah Ann Yopp Carter (Michael) of Memphis; three sons and their wives, Richard (Teri) Yopp of Middleton, Mike (Angie) Yopp of Lake Wales, FL and Greg (Lori) Yopp of Gallatin; two sisters, Bertha Newcomer of Macungie, PA and Anna Lewis Hart of Midlothian, TX; 8 grandchildren, Crystal (Dye) Picado, Audra (Shawn) Rider, Shelby (Chris) Newson, Kelsey and Meagan Yopp, Nicklaus Carter, Allison and Kendal Yopp; and 4 great grandsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Girneal Yopp in 1959; and a grandson, John Nathan Yopp in 2008. The family requests memorial donations in his name be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org/donate).
