THE SHOALS – The Shoals Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the 30th class of Leadership Shoals. Applications will be accepted through Monday, July 9 at 4:00 PM. Leadership Shoals is a program offered through the Shoals Chamber of Commerce. It has been in existence for three decades and has seen nearly 600 businesses and community leaders graduate from the program. The class offers participants a better understanding and appreciation of the Shoals area while incorporating several leadership training topics for group discussion targeted at enhancing leadership skills.
“Leadership Shoals is a wonderful opportunity to get to know other business leaders in the community and learn more about the Shoals area,” said Leadership Shoals Director Chelsea Kauchick. “It’s also a phenomenal way to get plugged into the community and learn how you can give back. Whether you’re new to the Shoals, or have been here since birth, you’re bound to learn something new through this educational, team building program.”
In addition to monthly events related to the Shoals area, participants will be charged with creating a group project to help or enhance the local community. Applicants must own or be a representative of an organization/business that has a current chamber membership along with cover tuition cost for the program. The general class size is 25-30 individuals and spans nine monthly sessions from August to May.
Following the program, the Chamber holds a graduation ceremony for all participants who have met program requirements. Applications can be downloaded from www.shoalschamber.com or can be picked up at the Shoals Chamber of Commerce office, 20 Hightower Place in Florence.
