Alma L. Denton Davis – Obituary

Mrs. Alma L.Denton Davis, 89, passed away, Friday May 11, 2018 at the Raintree Manor Nursing Home in McMinnville, Tennessee. She was born in White County on January 20, 1929.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Ola Mae Mason Sparkman and step-father, Alonzo Sparkman; daughter, Patricia Ann Myers; sister, Clara Hodge; husband, W.C. Davis.

 

She was owner and operator of the Davis’ Drive-In in Down Town Spencer which she ran herself for over 50 years. She was famous for her cheeseburgers.  She was member of the Church of Christ at Spencer.

 

She is survived by her son, Eugene (Linda) Davis of McMinnville; sister, Linda Haston, Celina, TN; grandchildren, Shana Smith, Teresa (Shawn) Roberts, Avery (Gina) Myers; great grandchildren, Jenna Smith, Drew and  Bradi (Shelby) Roberts, Madison, Tatum and Will Myers; great great grandchildren, Brantley and Ruby Jane; special family member, Polia Davis; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Layne Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Gene Brock officiating with burial to follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Spencer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
