Bobby J. Canup – Obituary

Bobby J. Canup, 75, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born June 12, 1942 to the late Lorenzo Dow Canup and the late Dovie Hall Canup. Bobby was the founder of Tremont Floral Supplies, Inc. which has been in business for over 50 years. He was the longest serving Director at Community Spirit Bank in Red Bay, AL. He was a member of Tremont First Baptist Church where he was active in outreach, bus ministry, mission trips, and served as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. Bobby enjoyed the Boy Scouts as both a youth and leader. He was very active in the Tremont Lion’s Club. Along with being a community leader, he had genuine love for people. Bobby also had a love for antique cars but the love most important to him was his love for Jesus.
A celebration of life will be at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Tremont First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore, Billy Bolton, and Gerald Terrell officiating.
Burial will be in Tremont First Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Tremont First Baptist Church and will continue from 2:00 pm to 4:45 pm on Wednesday, May 9, at Tremont First Baptist Church.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Bobby is survived by his Wife, Margie Canup of Tremont, Daughter, April and Eric Pittman of Mooreville, two Sons, Dow and Holly Canup of Madison, AL, BJ and Cynthia Canup of Fulton, Grandchildren, Chelsea and Caul Coker, Rachel Canup all of Fulton, Ethan Canup, Eli Canup, Fletcher Canup all of Madison, AL, Nan Pittman, Sam Pittman, Gracie Pittman all of Mooreville, step children, Amber and Stephen Kennedy of Okinawa, Japan, Brooke and Josh Stanphill of Tishomingo, Cody Bennett of Belmont, Mark Hunt of Hazel Green, AL, step grandchildren, Cassie Kennedy, Peyton Kennedy, Paisley Kennedy, Deacon Kennedy all of Okinawa, Japan, Tidus Stanphill of Tishomingo, Brothers, Dwayne Canup of Big Sandy, TX, Jimmy and Nellie Canup of Fayette, AL, twin sister, Betty Chasteen of Florence, AL, and Sister, Johnnie and James Pittman of Tremont.
He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Nancy Nanney Canup, and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Barry Todd, Buck Harp, Brad Bolton, Andy Holley, Wesley Holley, Leron Canup, Stacy Franks, Terry Lundy, and Dr. Ben Kitchens.
