Athens Man Arrested After Allegedly Injuring Man With Stick

ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson issued a statement regarding a fight with injuries that occurred on Monday, April 30:

“Last night around 10:30 (Monday, April 30) the police department received a call about a fight in the area of 3rd Street and South Houston Street.

Lt. Dusty Meadows arrived and located several subjects on Houston Street yelling and screaming. After Meadows and Sgt. Eric White was able to separate everyone involved and get medical attention for one person involved that was injured.

Apparently there was a disagreement over a female. Two males had got into a fight and one a 48-year-old male got his arm broken from being hit with a stick.

Officers arrested Carlos Antawan Royles for assault second degree. Royles was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”
