ATHENS-Since 1999, the City of Athens Relay for Life Team has raised over $141,240 for the American Cancer Society. (Some years, the total raised was not recorded)
In addition, the team has supported awareness by hosting blood drives, participating in Superhero Day for Childhood Cancer, distributing information on colon cancer and sharing information from Mildred’s Angels on ovarian cancer.
The team is hosting the annual Dan Williams Memorial Blood Drive on Thursday, May 3, from 9-5, at Athens City Hall in Downtown Athens.
The annual Relay for Life of Limestone County will be Friday, May 4, at the Limestone County Event Center. All the county teams will celebrate the 2017-18 campaign year and efforts to fight cancer and support those in our community impacted by cancer.
