Mark Stanley Counts – Obituary

Mark Stanley Counts, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the age of 60 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. His visitation will be Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Glendale Cemetery with Anthony Counts officiating.
Mark was a native and lifelong resident of Spring Valley. He worked as a machinist and planner for TVA PSS1 and was a Christian and member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, George “Malcolm” Counts.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Starkey Counts; mother, Sharlene Stanley Counts; daughters, Melinda Hollander and husband James, Denise Hodge and husband Brandon and Sharon Campbell and husband Adam; brothers, Dwaine Counts and Anthony Counts; four grandchildren, Mason Hollander, Jonah Hodge, Zane Hodge and Darcy Campbell; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Counts, Stephen Davis, Kevin Counts, Todd Rackley, Ethan Starkey, Michael Starkey, Heath Goebel and Garrett Goebel. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Counts, Bill Cabiness, Johnny Crittenden, Anthony Sparks, Richard Whiteside and Don Campbell.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to a charity of your choice.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Palliative Care at Helen Keller Hospital.
