Sheffield Becomes Bass Fishing Central For High School Anglers

SHEFFIELD-The Tennessee River at Riverfront Park in Sheffield hosted more than 500 anglers from 50 schools throughout the state on Saturday, April 21 for an Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association fishing tournament on Pickwick Lake. The tournament will launched from Riverfront Park. The weigh-in, was held in downtown Sheffield in front of the Singing River statue on North Montgomery Avenue.

Micah Goosby, of Westbrook Christian School in Rainbow City, caught the largest fish in the Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association tournament on Pickwick Lake, a 7.91 pounds largemouth.

Aaron Stephens and Daniel Meadows, of Mortimer-Jordan High School in Kimberly, winners of the Alabama Student Anglers Bass Fishing Association Tournament on Pickwick Lake with five largemouth bass weighing 21.06 pounds.
