THE SHOALS-On Saturday, April 21st at Alabama’s Music Hall of Fame local residents from Colbert and Lauderdale Counties came together to join the American Cancer Society and help beat cancer in one of the area’s largest local American Cancer Society Relay For Life events.
Event Leader Melinda Maxwell, relays in memory of her aunt who battled cancer and in honor of friends who are currently battling cancer said the event is the largest event in the area and monies raised will help battle cancer.
Mission
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
