Wayne Anderson – Obituary

Wayne Anderson, 91, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born May 29, 1926, to Mike and Lula McCully Anderson. He worked a variety of jobs throughout his career including Lee County and was a poultry farmer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Big Oak Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 23, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Doug Wilson officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Center Star Cemetery.

Wayne is survived by two sons, Jimmy Anderson (Sherry) of Guntown and Gary Anderson (Shea) of Olive Branch; eight grandchildren, Casey Anderson (Missy), Michael Stanton (Mandy), Ashley Burns (Alan), Kealy Sands (Ben), Londyn Bakeris, Luke Bakeris, Cruz Bakeris, and Skyler Bakeris; and six great-grandchildren, Autumn Stanton, Hagen Stanton, Raylan Burns, Ryder Burns, Carter Sands, and Luke Miller.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mildred Anderson; his parents; and his sister, Clarice Anderson Hester.

Pallbearers will be Dale Brock, Bill Smith, Terry Herring, Jason Thompson, Josh Reese, and Doug Hearn.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 22, and from noon until service time Monday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
