Jeanette Sullivan Cruse – Obituary

Jeanette Sullivan Cruse, 71, died at 11:40 PM on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Select-Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis after an extended illness. Born in Chickasaw County on May 11, 1946 to the late George Elmo Winter and Edith Ray Sullivan Dickerson and raised there until adulthood, she lived in Mississippi, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Alabama before returning to the Houston area 5 years ago from Robertsdale, Ala. She married the late Monroe Cruse and they had 5 children. Jeanette worked as a self -employed hot shot truck driver, in furniture factories and as a manager for Subway before retiring. A Baptist, she enjoyed computers, cross stitching , embroidery, sewing and being with her family and friends.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 5 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. Visitation will be from 4 PM-service time Wed. only. Burial will be in Moak’s Creek Cemetery in Pike County, Miss. Holland-Okolona Chapel (662 447 2000) is honored to be serving the family.
Survivors include her children, Michael Cruse (Tina Blansett) of Houston; Timmy Cruse of McComb; Charlotte Cruse of McComb; Cynthia “Cindy” Cruse (Mike Weaver) of Woodland; and Carol Farr of Buena Vista. 11 grandchildren: Angela, Lindsey, Issac, Kimberly, Jonathan, Kayla, Brandon, Brianna, Cherokee, Megan and Nathan. Numerous great grandchildren. 2 nephews, Brian and Dewayne Winter and a special devoted friend, Mary Harrison of Robertsdale, Ala. She was preceded in death by her parents, the children’s father, Monroe Cruse and a brother, George Wayne Winter.
