Kirk C. Minor – Obituary

Rev. Dr. Kirk C. Minor passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. His visitation will be today, April 20, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. His funeral service will be Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Brother David Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park.

Kirk was a native of Cherokee. He served in the U.S. Army. Kirk held a master’s degree as a licensed clinical social worker and retired from Riverbend Mental Health. He also held a PhD from Emory University and was retired from the Ministry. He was a published author and a member of Our Lady of The Shoals Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Joan Minor.

He is survived by his daughters, Dena Minor Pickle and Kimberly Minor Tigner; brother, Kenneth D. Minor; sisters, Elvie Mae Dowdy and Virgie Christine Pickle; grandchildren, Kayla Elizabeth Pickle, Alicia Nicole Puckett and Richard Kirk Tigner; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Pickle, Darrell Pickle, Shane Taylor, and Devin Kimbrough, Daniel Taylor and James Parker.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Therese Lango and the physicians and nurses at E.C.M. Hospital.
