Dorothy Faye Peck Hamner, 76, passed away April 15, 2018. Her service will be today, April 17th at 1 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Grigsby officiating. Burial will be in Atlas Cemetery.
Dorothy was an active member of Atlas Church of Christ. Before her retirement, she was employed in retail sales at Castner- Knott, Parisian and Belk Department Stores. After retirement, she volunteered at ECM Hospital and Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home, and would always do anything she could to help anyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eula Mae and Almon Peck, Sr.; siblings, Almon Peck, Jr. and Rose Marie Johnson; and great-grandson, infant Brennon Putman.
Survivors include her children, Zachary Smith, Randy Smith, Tammie Isbell, Tara Greenhill and Justin Smith; grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Derrick Smith, Eric Smith, Kelby Barclay, Delaney Greenhill, Ellie Greenhill, Preston Smith, Lillie Smith and Mariah Smith; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Emmons and numerous nieces and nephews
The family would like to express their appreciation to El Reposo Nursing Home and Hospice of the Shoals for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
