Peggy Stone McLellan, 88, passed away on April 16, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born February 8, 1930, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Brown. She was a member of Fulton United Methodist Church. She taught English at Itawamba Agricultural High School for thirteen years before starting her family. As a teacher, she always knew which child needed a little extra attention. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing practical jokes, playing bridge, fishing, and listening to Elvis Presley. She enjoyed stirring the pot; in fact, she would often cook one fewer deviled egg than she had guests just to see what would happen. She loved Jesus and the occasional cocktail. Her last request was for “one thousand cigarettes.” She was the funniest person ever! When faced with difficult situations, her unique sense of humor led to contagious, therapeutic laughter. To say that she was a bit disorganized would be an understatement, but she never missed an opportunity to offer love, support, and comfort.

Visitation will be held at Fulton United Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 12 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Phillip Box officiating. Burial will be at the Stone Cemetery in Tremont, Mississippi. McNeece -Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Fulton United Methodist Church, 301 East Main, Fulton, MS 38843.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Stone, in 1978, and her second husband, Woods McLellan, in 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Caroline Summerford Peden (Charlie) and Camille Walker (Jimmy); and a son Dr. Jim Stone (Beth); grandchildren, Bo Summerford (Kelsey), Sam Summerford, Chelsea Antici; (Tate), Jimmy Stone, Ann Douglas Stone, Katherine Stone, Nicole Catt (Doug), Neely Barton (Andy), Casy Peden; great-grandson Stone Antici; stepbrother Don Holcomb (Linda); stepdaughter Mary Ray; and stepson Mike McLellan; caregivers Eva Summerford and Betty Reich.

Pallbearers will be Tate Antici, Andy Barton, Doug Catt, Casy Peden, Jimmy Stone, Bo Summerford, and Sam Summerford.
