John Brice Graham Jr. – Obituary

Funeral services for John Brice Graham Jr., age 93 of Wedowee, will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Graham passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at his home. A native and life-long resident of Randolph County, he enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating from high school. Mr. Graham was a World War II veteran and was honorably discharged from the service in 1950. Upon his return to Randolph County, he was employed by Lockheed Aircraft Company in Marietta, GA and later by the Anniston Army Depot from which he retired. Mr. Graham enjoyed being a farmer, fisherman and deer hunter. He was also an avid gardener and a member of Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church.

Mr. Graham is survived by his wife of 26 years, Betty Key Bean Graham of Wedowee; three step-daughters: Sylvia Phillips (Doyle) of Delta, Shirley Bradley (Johnny Ray) of Wedowee and Yvonne Bean of Charlotte, NC; one step-son, Stanley Bean of Notasulga; one sister, Virgie Anne Smith of Anniston, plus a large number of step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John Brice Graham Sr. and Amzie Dessie Key Graham and his brother, Paul Graham.

Pallbearers will be Max Hadley, Matthew Huddleston, David Phillips, Travis Phillips, Eugene Bean, Timmy Bean and Gregg Bean.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville. Mr. Graham will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
