Nelda June Alston, 83 of Addison, entered into rest on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Nelda was born on January 20, 1935 in Cullman County. She was a lifelong member of Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church. Nelda graduated from Addison High School in 1953. She loved to spend time gardening and bird watching.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 6-8pm at Nichols Funeral Home, Addison. She will lie in state on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 1-2pm at Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church, Addison, where services will be at 2pm. Brother Joey Smithson will officiate. Burial will be in Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church Cemetery.
Nelda is survived by her husband of 65 years, E.C. Alston, Jr.; son, Kevin Alston and wife Roxanne; daughters, Paula Hardin, Anita Kilpatrick and husband Larry; she was “Ma Maw” to 6 grandchildren, Haley (Matt) Roberts, Hannah Witt, Rob Clemmons, Riley Kilpatrick, Connor Kilpatrick, Michelle Drucker; 5 great grandchildren, Landon Terry, Jackson Roberts, Rhett Roberts, Tyde Witt, Saban Witt; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Vera Butler; and brother Bobby Butler.
