Gary Thomas York, 67, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018. A graveside service will be Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Central Heights Community Cemetery with Randy Baker officiating.
Gary was a native of Florence and was a veteran of the Alabama National Guard. He was a pipefitter for TVA and a member of the Steamfitters Local 760. His pride and joy was his grandkids, Jackson, Shelby and Macy Kate. He spent all of his time buying them the most random gifts possible. He loved to cook and add ingredients that no one would think of and it always tasted amazing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey Smith and Emmanuel York and his in-laws, Earlene Alsup and L.V. Collins Tittle.
Gary is survived by his wife, Judy York; son, Jamey York; daughter, Tiffany York Aldridge (Nick); grandchildren, Cody York, Jackson Minor, Shelby and Macy Kate Aldridge; sisters, Nadine Brewer, Martha Conley and Renee York; and brothers, Jimmy, Connie and Bobby York.
Pallbearers are Nick Aldridge, Christopher Tittle, Jackson Minor, Jamey York, Cody York and Josh Strickland.
