Billy Joe Young age 80 of Athens, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Young was born September 21, 1937 in Limestone County, AL to Robert Allen Young and Bertha Ann McAlister Young.
Graveside services will be Friday, April 13, 2018 3:00 p.m., at Limestone Memorial Gardens with Charlie Hughes and Wayne Kuykendall officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bobby Young; one sister, Ann Locke.
Survived by his wife, of 59 years, Martha Sandlin Young of Athens; one daughter, Dawn Furline and husband, John of Athens; one son, Derrick Young and wife, Staci of Athens; four grandchildren, Breanna Furline, Taylor Furline, Sabrina Young and Troy Young; one great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Furline.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
