Funeral services for Mrs. Martha S. Hays, age 88, are scheduled for 1 PM, Friday, April 13, 2018 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Henderson County Memory Gardens. Mrs. Hays passed away late Tuesday in Lexington. She was born April 23, 1929 in Adamsville to the late Robert and Lissie Short Smith. She and her husband were the owners of the Ben Franklin store in Lexington. Mrs. Hays was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Lexington, enjoyed working in her yard, and loved traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. E. E. Hays. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7 PM and on Friday from 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the charity of your choice.
