Terry Shannon died peacefully at his home on April 8, 2018.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 3, 1946 to Clinton and Harriet Shannon. Terry grew up in Cincinnati with his siblings and loved playing sports and having fun. He served honorably in the United States Navy from 1965-1969 and was proud of his service to his country.
He had been married to his wife Sandy since 1972 and had three children, (Brian, Tara, Kevin). Terry was a great man who worked hard, played hard, and did whatever necessary to provide for his family. He was an active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and loved all of his church family.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; children Brian Shannon (Jennie), Tara Collins (Kirk) and Kevin Shannon (Monica); six grandchildren, who call him Pops, Mac, Cade, Courtlyn, Carrigan, Aidan, Finn and his siblings Ron, Donna, Sherry and Mary.
A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Wesley Memorial United Church in Decatur. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church or Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation.
